DOORS Codes in September: After The Archives Update
The Archives update went live on August 29, 2026 and reshaped the back half of the hotel: a new subfloor, a batch of entities, ten-plus items and permanent free access to every subfloor you have discovered. September was the first month players had to work out what that meant for codes.
The short answer: nothing
The Archives update shipped with no redeem strings of its own. That is normal for DOORS — the developer adds codes around creator collabs and visit milestones rather than feature launches, and a subfloor release is neither.
What September players actually had was the same pool that survives today, minus the two October additions (ACCESS GRANTED, ACCESS DENIED, PROTOCOL and REPRESSED all date from the October pass in the trackers). The anniversary and joke strings — 3RD, LAZYDEVS, SCREECHSUCKS — were already years old by then and still paying.
Why The Archives changed the value of codes
Not the list itself but what Knobs buy. Stardust previously mattered mostly for revives; the new subfloor pushed more players toward consumables they had never needed, which made the Stardust strings worth more relative to the Knob ones.
That is a general pattern worth remembering: when an update changes the economy, it changes which codes are worth the thirty seconds it takes to paste them. A 20 Stardust string is worth far more after an update that raises revive pressure than before it.
What September taught about the list
The most useful observation from that month is how little moved. Between August 28 and mid-September, the mxblox tracker logged the same 31 strings unchanged. The DOORS list is not volatile month to month — it is volatile around events, and September had no event.
Then October arrived with The Hollow, and the seasonal churn started again. That is the rhythm: long flat stretches, then a cliff when an event rotates out.
Practical takeaway
If you are reading this after the fact, treat September as the baseline. Anything on today’s list that also appeared in September has survived at least two months of events, which is a much better durability signal than any single tracker’s checkmark.
